Approximately 300 people came to the Healthy Gut Happy Brain workshop with Ilchi Lee and Dr. Emeran Mayer on Sunday, September 18, 2016. Held at the Moseley-Salvatore Conference Center in Los Angeles, CA, people traveled from as far as San Francisco, San Diego, and Arizona to attend. Included in this event organized by ChangeYourEnergy.com and Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi were booths for aura readings, brain activity readings, and more information about Body & Brain classes and programs. Belly Button Healing Kits and Ilchi Lee's and Dr. Emeran Mayer's latest books, Earth Management: A Dialogue on Ancient Korean Wisdom and Its Lessons for a New Earth and The Mind-Gut Connection, respectively, were sold.

The audience warmed up with stretches and Belly Button Healing with the Healing Life wand.

Then, Dr. Mayer shared how microbes living in the gut influence the gut and brain, especially emotion. While initially controversial, Dr. Mayer told the enthusiastic audience that the importance of the gut for brain activity is becoming more widely recognized.

Ilchi Lee, who has long talked about the benefits of stimulating the abdomen for the brain, emphasized that stimulation is not just mechanical. Paying attention and listening to the belly button while pressing it, as in Belly Button Healing, calms stress and emotions, clears the mind, and allows the body and brain to heal and maintain themselves. He had the audience on their feet, dancing with the Healing Life wand, showing them that changing your emotional state or doing meditation can be simple and fun.

During his talk, Lee demonstrated the effects of Belly Button Healing on the mind with the help of Hyungchul Noh from the Korea Institute of Brain Science (KIBS), which Ilchi Lee founded. KIBS has designed a device they call a Smart Brain that can read brain waves from two electrodes placed on the forehead. With this device, four volunteers from the audience got to see how their stress levels went down, their concentration went up, their brain waves stabilized, and the activity in their right and left brain hemispheres balanced from one to two minutes of Belly Button Healing. Everyone looked on as the volunteers' brain activity changed in real time.

In addition to the 300 people there that day, approximately 3500 more watched live on Ilchi Lee's Facebook page

Through their insightful talks, both experts gave the many people watching real changes they could make in how they treat their gut so they can better manage their brain for a healthier and happier life.
