There is a word in KoreanChunhwa
Life completed.
Not life ended.

Chunhwa is not primarily about preparing for the end of life. It is about how we live here and now: resolving what remains unfinished, expressing gratitude, and becoming more fully who we are.

In this way, preparing for death becomes a practice of living with greater meaning, wholeness, and purpose—beginning now.

A Message from Ilchi Lee

Why I Wrote This Book

In I’ve Decided to Live 120 Years, I invited readers to consider how they would live if they could choose a longer life. As I continued exploring that question, another naturally arose: How can we bring our lives to completion?

Living well and dying well cannot be separated.

The final years of my mother’s life and the peaceful passing of my father showed me that how we meet death is shaped by how we have lived—what we have loved, what we have resolved, and what we have given.

I wrote this book because we should not have to wait for illness, loss, or crisis to ask what matters most. We can ask now. And when we do, death does not diminish life. It awakens us to its value.
