A true spiritual practitioner
must be like water.
Like water, you must discard
your own individual form
so you can enter into people’s bodies
to become blood.
Like water, you must flow
into every corner of the world,
all of its smallest spaces,
and make everything wet and clean.
After that, you must sublimate
the entire world to the heavens.
As you do all this,
because you are water,
you never come forward to boast
you did this or that excellent deed.
People who put themselves forward
have already given up on being water.
Such people are not
real spiritual practitioners.
A true spiritual practitioner
has to know how to vanish
without a trace
like water.
