Dreams give our lives direction, but they fulfill their true purpose only when our original nature stays in the driver’s seat.
Direction Matters More Than Speed
Every one of us has dreams and desires. They are part of the energy of life that moves us to grow, create, and contribute. Without dreams, life loses direction. Without desire, we lose the strength to take the next step.
But dreams and desires do not always lead us to the same place. A dream born from our original nature expands our lives. A desire born from attachment slowly pulls us away from it. Before we ask how fast we are moving, we should ask where we are going. Direction always matters more than speed. It matters more today than it ever has.
We have built technologies that can heal and connect the whole world. We have also built technologies that can destroy it. Artificial intelligence is advancing at a speed no one fully controls, and conflict is spreading in more places at once than most of us can name. This is not the time to ask only how fast we can move. This is the time to ask who, or what, is steering us.
Our Original Nature Already Knows the Way
Where does a true vision come from? Not from comparison or from competition with people around us. It comes only from discovering our original value—the value we had before the world told us what we should want.
Once we touch that value, our dreams grow larger than personal success. We want our lives to reach our families, our communities, the world. Our hearts grow lighter, because we are no longer living only for ourselves.
Our original nature always knows the right direction. That knowing has a voice. The more clearly we listen to it, the less likely we are to be swept away by passing desire or by whatever the world around us happens to be doing that day.
When Desire Takes the Wheel
Is desire the problem? No. Without desire, we would never begin anything. The problem starts when desire begins making decisions that belong to our original nature instead.
At first, we work because we love the work itself. Then, without noticing, we become attached to being recognized, to winning, to proving something. We start measuring our life by results instead of by sincerity. We reach one goal, and immediately another goal appears, demanding to be chased. Our minds cannot rest, because a desire rooted in attachment can never be fully satisfied. It only asks for more.
Most people today are not suffering from too little ambition. They feel lost, empty, or collide against obstacles because they have lost contact with their own inner compass.
So we have to ask ourselves, honestly: Who is steering my dream? Is it my original nature, or is it my attachment?
Water Up, Fire Down: Taking Back the Throttle
How do we truly answer that question in our lives? We need more than just our thoughts; we need to create Water Up, Fire Down.
Water Up, Fire Down is a natural state of balanced energy. The head becomes cool and clear, like water. The lower body becomes warm and full of vitality, like fire. We create this state through Brain Education—through energy exercises, breathing, meditation, and even mindful living.
As this circulation becomes consistent in the body, it starts to shape the way we think, the way we choose, and the way we live. When we live in Water Up, Fire Down, we stop being swept away by every passing emotion or every excessive desire. Our judgment clears. Our hearts stay passionate without overheating. We can give ourselves fully to our dreams while staying connected to our original nature.
Think of a powerful engine. It has the potential to reach incredible speeds, but a skilled driver knows when to accelerate and when to ease off, because the destination always matters more than the speed. Water Up, Fire Down puts our hand back on that throttle. Our lives work the same way.
A Dream That Makes Our Heart Proud
All of us will one day reach the end of our lives. In that moment, we will not ask how busy we were or how many goals we checked off. We will ask one question: Did I stay true to myself? Did I use this life for something worthwhile?
A dream guided by our original nature leaves no regrets.
When vision leads and desire serves that vision instead of replacing it, we move forward with real passion, still connected to who we truly are. That is how we live a life that can make our own heart proud.
