Although thoughts and emotions seem ephemeral, they leave a mark on our brains. Traces of negative emotions in particular accumulate and can lead to depression, loss of memory, or even degenerative brain diseases.
On the other hand, when we ask older people living simply in rural areas what the secret to their long lives is, they’ll often say, “I didn’t do anything special,” and laugh.
The secret to longevity is that you don’t have to do anything big. Just be grateful and happy for the little things in life. Take everything positively, and look forward to each day.
The hearts and minds that do that are special.

I am definitely overthinking such things. It never occurred to me to be happy and grateful for longevity. I take supplements and focus on my diet. Happiness and gratitude seem more fun and a lot cheaper lol.
